In preparation for this month’s Wild Writing retreat, I wrote a short stream of consciousness to give voice to my reflections on what I mean by the words Wild Writing.

If you wish, you can also write your own stream, starting with the words ‘Wild Writing is…’ If it helps, you can set a timer for 5 mins to create a container for your writing.

Wild Writing is surrendering to the flow of life energy within and around you, allowing it to guide the flow of ink on paper, relinquishing attachments to results and letting joy move through you in all its forms.

Wild Writing is being present with nature, with all the beings that come into your awareness and giving voice, words, space to your connection with them. Your deeper inner connection that surpasses all understanding.

Wild Writing is an opening to your natural inner state. Behind the masks you wear, behind the roles you play, who are you really, when all the stories are peeled away?

Who is it that is watching your life unfold? Does that witness have a voice? And if so, what does it say, in the quietness of being, in the spaciousness of seeing, in the silence of listening.

A sweet song is waiting to be heard, to be woven, to be spun and to be sung.

The wild self longs to live through you yet it has been obscured by years of myth and belief that hide its simple beauty.

Wild Writing is stepping into the unknown, the novelty of each moment – not tired and familiar but sparkling and alive.
